Material:

•                     Volcano (made of paper with glue, clay or plastic), bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, test      tube, liquid soap and red dye.
Procedure:

For this activity the class will be divided into two different groups of fourteen students. To start with the teacher will ask the students about the topic to see how much they know about it, and then she will ask some questions to attract the attention of the students and to make them be interested on the topic. Finally she will explain what the volcanos are and how they erupt. She will also add the different types of eruptions and the different types of lava that a volcano may have.
After the explanation the teacher will ask children if they want to see an eruption and once they say yes, she will place the home made volcano in the middle of a big table with all the students around to see what happen. After this the teacher will show them how to proceed to make the experiment. In first place she will introduce the bicarbonate of soda, the liquid soap and the red dye and after that she will add the vinegar waiting just for a few seconds to see the results.
After this experiment students will have time to repeat the same in groups of three or four people asking for the teacher supervision before adding the vinegar.
Once the activity is finished all student will have to write down on their notebooks what they have learned during the class and explaining which kind of experiment they have done and why.
Evaluation/assessment:

For this activity the evaluation will be based on the previous knowledge that students had before the class, the observation of the teacher during the class and the notes they have taken at the end of the session.
